Fisherman's MarkWinter Festival Food Drive Benefits Fisherman’s Mark

In addition to the full calendar of events with something to please everyone, the 2012 Lambertville‐ New Hope Winter Festival will benefit local and neighboring families through a food drive and donations to Fisherman’s Mark, a social service organization located in Lambertville. The Festival began on Saturday, January 14th and continues through Sunday, January 29th.

Fisherman’s Mark provides a full range of services, including a food pantry that emphasizes nutrition for families in six local counties.

Two local businesses will be hosting food donation containers starting on Friday, January 20th through Sunday, January 29th: The Bank of Princeton on Bridge Street in Lambertville and Triumph Brewery in New Hope.

Winter Festival visitors can also support Fisherman’s Mark by bringing non-perishable food to the main events including the Taste of Winter Fest on Thursday, January 26th and the “In the Pocket” concert on Friday, January 27th. On Saturday, January 28th, you can find food drive containers at St. John’s School in Lambertville, at the afternoon Beef ‘N Brew event, and the Mayor Larry Keller Roast Saturday evening. On Sunday morning there will be a collection at the activities at New Hope – Solebury High School and at the Chili Cook Off in the afternoon.  For more information about the Lambertville – New Hope Winter Festival and these events, please visit www.winterfestival.net.

Another option for supporting Fisherman’s Mark is with a cash donation via the Winter Festival website at www.winterfestival.net/fishermansmark.html. “We truly appreciate the Winter Festival organizers for their continuing support of Fisherman’s Mark. This time of year demand at the food pantry can climb to  1,000 individuals a month. The reality is that the pantry often runs very short on food,” commented BJ Petty, executive director of Fisherman’s Mark. “With demand at an all-time high, this community support will ensure no one is turned away hungry.”
