Raise the Roof Benefit to Assist Two
Artists in Need
by Robin Larsen
December 12, 2004 a fire destroyed a major portion
of the studio of two well-known area artists Susan
Roseman and James Feehan. Both artists used the studio
to create their own works as well as teach students
in painting and printmaking. While the artists have
insurance it will not be enough to completely rebuild
and restock the studio that also housed their sign
making business.
An all-volunteer group of family and friends of the
artists are planning a benefit -Raise the Roof - to
be held April 10, 2005 atEagle Fire Hall, Rt. 202 and
Sugan Road in New Hope, Pennsylvania. The evening will
feature a live, silent and Chinese auction with paintings,
prints, pottery, gift certificates and tickets to area
performances. Food will be donated by area restaurants
and a DJ will host a dance party following the auction.
Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at Riverrun Gallery
in Lambertville, NJ or at Riverbank Arts in Stockton,
NJ.
Doors will open at 4:00pm for silent and Chinese auctions
and preview of the live auction items. Live auction
will begin at 6:00pm. Dancing will continue until 10:00am.
