The Summer Slide Program
Don’t fall behind during the summer! The Summer Slide Program is geared for high school and middle school level students. This program helps students help themselves through different strategies, tools, and techniques to help maintain and possibly increase their reading, memory, and comprehension abilities throughout the summer months, giving them a head start for next year. No one wants to feel like they are in school over the summer, so all of the information is presented in a fun and unique way with plenty of activities designed to reinforce the techniques demonstrated. The program is meant to be stress free, with none of the pressures or strains of school. The goal of the program is to learn different study strategies and to have the opportunity to see which work for you. This is a completely FREE program and is brought to you through the Bucks County LIFE Program. The strategies covered, were developed and will be presented by an undergraduate psychology major and has been reviewed by several professionals.
If you are interested in attending please register by e-mail(SummerSlide2010@gmail.com), and include the student's name, grade level, name of school he/she attends, and a sentence summary about how they feel about their academics. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you might have as well.
The location of this program is to be held at Newtown Presbyterian Church, 25 North Chancellor Street Newtown, PA 18940 in the church's Ettenger Hall. The Wednesday Nights of July 14th, 21st, and 28th from 8-9pm.
